Bf 109 F / G / K – control surfaces 1:32 (HGW)

A detail accessory, not an airplane kit. The set reproduces the texture of the control surfaces of the German Messerschmitt Bf 109 fighter in the F, G and K versions. It is neither a photo-etched nor a plastic part, but a so-called wet transfer – a transfer layer with no clear carrier film, which once applied leaves no ridge of clear coat and no decal edge. It faithfully reproduces both fabric-covered and metal control surfaces with the fine relief of ribs and stitching.

What the set is for

The real rudder, elevators and ailerons of the Bf 109 had a distinctive texture that the plastic part from the box often renders only crudely. The wet transfer replaces that surface with a fine, flat texture without a visible edge, so the model gains a convincing look of the covering. The set is intended for Bf 109 F/G/K kits in 1:32 scale from Hasegawa and Revell.

Application tips

• First smooth and degrease the surface of the part
• Apply the transfer to a smooth substrate, ideally polished with clear coat
• Work with plenty of water and a soft brush and press out any air bubbles
• Once dry, the area can be toned and lightly weathered
