This item is not a kit. It is a separate sheet of wet decals from the manufacturer HAD models in 1:32 scale, intended for marking an already built model of the MiG-23 fighter in the MF and MLD versions. You will find the extent of the sheet, the number of schemes and the particular users in the enclosed instructions and on the illustrations of the schemes, which are part of the package.
The MiG-23 is a single-engine fighter with a variable-geometry wing, which is set in flight according to the regime: spread for takeoff, landing and lower speeds, swept back for fast flight. The MF and MLD versions represent two different developmental configurations, which differ in avionics and further changes, the MLD belonging among the later variants of the line. The type served with a number of air forces and its coloring and national insignia differed markedly from state to state, which makes decal sheets an important accessory for modelers.
Always lay the decals onto a gloss surface, best onto a clear gloss coat applied over the finished coloring. A matte base will trap air and a silvered edge will arise around the decal. Cut the piece out as tightly as possible, immerse it for a few seconds in lukewarm water and leave it to rest on the paper until it can be slid off. Position it on the model with a brush and soak the excess water up with a paper tissue. On broken-up surfaces and engraved lines a softener will help, which draws the decal down into the detail. Once dry, run a coat over the surface to the desired gloss, and only then add weathering.
This is a decal sheet, not a model. The kit, paints and clear coats are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
