A set of replacement wheels for models of the MiG-23 in the ML, MLA, MLD, late P and two-seat UM versions, 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The MiG-23 is a Soviet single-engined combat aircraft with a variable-geometry wing which, from the end of the 1960s, became one of the most widespread machines in its category. The ML, MLA and MLD versions make up the late fighter series, the P is an interceptor version for air defense and the UM a two-seat training form. On these aircraft the landing gear wheels are among the items that remain on show on a finished model, and in 1:32 scale both the shape of the tire and the definition of the hub can be judged on them.
These are replacement wheels for kits of the versions named. They come into their own where a modeler is not satisfied with a simplified tire shape, soft tread relief or a hub with little definition. The wheels are fitted to a finished landing gear, so they can be painted separately and put on at the very end of the build.
The parts are not polystyrene and ordinary plastic cement has no effect on them, so use cyanoacrylate. Cut the excess material off a short way from the part with a sharp blade and carefully sand the remainder so that the circular outline of the tire is preserved. Wash and degrease the parts before painting, otherwise the paint holds poorly. It is more comfortable to spray the tire and the hub separately and put them together at the end. The particular way of preparing them is given in the manufacturer's instructions.
For modelers who are building the MiG-23 in 1:32 scale and want a crisper and more accurate landing gear than the part from the kit offers. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
