This item is not a kit of the aircraft but an accessory for one. It is a set of photo-etched metal parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard, intended for a model of the North American B-25H Mitchell bomber in 1:32 scale. A bare name with no subtitle is the convention in this coded range; the particular focus of the set is stated on the box. The principle stays the same as with other photo-etch: a metal part of the matching thickness replaces a molded plastic shape, which is always coarser than it would really be.
The North American B-25 Mitchell was a twin-engine medium bomber with a characteristic twin vertical tail, employed on a number of fronts in the Second World War. The B-25H version was among the attack forms, with heavy gun armament in the nose and a single-pilot cockpit. In the large 1:32 scale a model is judged from close up, so coarse plastic detail is more conspicuous on it than at smaller scales.
Cut the parts off with a scalpel on a hard surface, not by breaking them away. Make the folds in a photo-etch bender or between two razor blades. Sand the plastic surface smooth and remove the original molded detail that the photo-etch is to replace. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue in minute drops applied with a pin, and on small parts gloss decal varnish also suits. Degrease bare metal and spray it with a base color. Do not spray over pre-painted parts, if the set contains them.
This is an accessory for a kit. The model, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
