Eduard 1:32 North American F-100C Super Sabre air brake is a photo-etched set focused on the air brake and its bay on a model of the American supersonic aircraft in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This is not a kit but an accessory for a model. The set contains parts of thin etched sheet intended, according to the name, for the air brake, that is, the hinged panel on the underside of the fuselage, and for its bay. The manufacturer is the Czech firm Eduard.
The air brake is one of the few places where you can see into an otherwise closed fuselage. When it is built in the open position it reveals a space full of stiffeners, ribs and runs that a plastic molding captures only in outline. Thin etched sheet makes it possible to reduce the thickness of the panel itself and to complete the inside of the bay so that it stands up to a close look, which in 1:32 scale counts twice over.
The North American F-100C Super Sabre was an American single-engine supersonic fighter-bomber with a Pratt and Whitney J57 engine with an afterburner. The air brake on the lower part of the fuselage served to reduce speed quickly, typically on the approach to landing.
First dry fit the bay to see whether it sits in the open cutout in the fuselage. Separate the parts with a sharp knife and make the folds over a straight edge. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Paint and dust the inside of the bay and the inner face of the panel before you close the assembly up, as later you will not get in there with a brush.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
