A decal sheet from the brand Caracal Models for large models of the North American T-28 Trojan trainer and light combat aircraft in the T-28B and T-28D versions. The sheet contains markings of the machines given by the manufacturer on the packaging; the number of schemes, the belonging to units and the serial numbers you will find on the packaging and in the instructions supplied. Before buying, please compare what the manufacturer gives on the packaging with what you want to build. The package contains decals only, and the kit is not part of it.
The North American T-28 Trojan is an American single-engined trainer aircraft with a radial piston engine and a tricycle undercarriage, developed as the successor to the older Texan. The T-28B version was intended for naval training and had a more powerful engine, while the T-28D came about by modification for light combat employment with stores under the wing. The type saw a long service and was operated in many countries; thanks to its size and clean shapes it is among the rewarding modeling subjects in a large scale.
Look the sheet over against the light before working. Decals age, and with sheets stored for a longer time it happens that the film yellows or cracks. Yellowing can often be removed by leaving the sheet lying in direct daylight for a few hours. With a cracked film a thin coat of clear varnish laid on the whole sheet helps: once it has dried, the decals are cut out one at a time and the varnish holds the printing together. The application itself is then ordinary: a gloss base, brief soaking, settling on a drop of water and pressing the air out with a soft brush. Apply the softener only once the decal is exactly in place; as soon as it starts to work, do not move the film again. Once dry, seal the surface with varnish and only then do the panel lines and the patina.
