Montex 1:32 P-40K is a set of pre-cut self-adhesive masks for modelers, not a kit. The masks match the glazing of the Hasegawa kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A modeling accessory in 1:32 scale. The package holds self-adhesive masks cut to the clear parts of the Hasegawa kit, not model parts. The set is there so that the canopy frames can be sprayed with an airbrush while the glazing stays perfectly clean.
The Curtiss P-40K was among the development versions of the American fighter with the liquid-cooled Allison engine. Typical of the P-40 is the large radiator under the forward fuselage, which gives the aircraft its characteristic silhouette. The K was built with two different tail arrangements: early examples had a shorter rear fuselage with an enlarged dorsal fin, later ones received a lengthened rear fuselage. The aircraft served on a number of fronts, among them North Africa and the Pacific.
The quality of masking stands or falls with the tools. Use a fresh scalpel blade; a blunt one tears the mask as it is separated from the sheet and the edge then cannot be pressed down cleanly. Tweezers should have straight, finely ground tips with no teeth, otherwise they leave scores in the mask. Never stretch a mask to reach further than the size it was cut to; a stretched mask returns to its original size after spraying and reveals an uncovered strip. A smaller inaccuracy is better made up with a strip of masking tape.
This is an accessory for a model, not a kit. The kit, paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
