Office fittings in 1:35 scale: resin castings complemented with a fret of metal parts for the interior of a staff room or an office.

A writing desk, a filing cabinet and a chair with a back looked practically the same in Europe from the 1890s until well past the Second World War. Joinery workshops supplied the same shapes to offices, schools and barracks and renewed them only slowly, so an office taken over in 1940 was usually still furnished from the days of the empire or the first republic.
The dating elements are small and easily left out: a telephone and its cable, a typewriter, a lamp with a shade, a picture on the wall, a stack of files with labels. These are precisely the things a customer reads first on a finished scene. If the office shows a staff, a map and orders pinned up belong there too; if it is a civilian office, official notices and rubber stamps are more likely.
Office furniture wears quite regularly in the places a hand or a knee touches: the front edge of the desktop, the rim of the drawers, the lower frame of the chair. Polished veneer loses its sheen in the middle of the working surface, while along the edges it stays dark. Paper on the desk goes gray, whereas freshly delivered files shine white, so the contrast between them tells of time.
Resin parts need a base coat after washing, otherwise the paint slides on the smooth surface. Glue the metal components from the fret, that is, the handles, hinges and small fittings, on last, so that they do not bend while being handled. Build the interior from the back forwards.
