A masking set for a model of the American fighter Curtiss P-40N in 1:32 scale, intended for the kit from the Hasegawa firm.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Curtiss P-40 was an American single-seat fighter which served from the beginning of the Second World War on all the main battlefields, from North Africa through the Pacific to the Eastern Front. The N version came about by lightening the structure, and you will recognize it by the lowered spine of the fuselage behind the cabin, which improved the pilot's view to the rear.
A masking set for the P-40N in 1:32 scale, intended for the kit from the Hasegawa firm. Which areas the set masks and where the individual pieces belong are stated in the manufacturer's instructions; sort the masks out according to them before working and leave them on the backing until their turn comes.
The masks are stuck on before spraying, onto a finished and degreased surface with no fingerprints. Press the edge of every piece down all the way around, otherwise paint will run underneath it and the edge will be blurred. Apply the paint in thin layers; in a large scale a heavy layer is tempting for its quick coverage, but it is precisely that which then tears when the mask is removed. Take the mask off while the paint is dry only to the touch, and draw it back at an angle over itself, not at right angles away from the surface.
The set suits modelers who want sharp boundaries between the color areas without the lengthy cutting of masking tape. In the large 1:32 scale working with it is easier than on small models, because the pieces are easy to hold with tweezers. The kit, the paints, the glue and thinner are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
