The Hispano-Suiza engine (200 hp) for the SE.5a – a photo-etched detail set in 1:32 scale from the Czech maker HGW. Brass photo-etch for a faithful rendering of the engine of the British fighter biplane.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of brass photo-etched parts for detailing the Hispano-Suiza V engine of around 200 horsepower on the plastic kit of the British fighter aircraft SE.5a in 1:32 scale. It is not an engine model to build but an accessory for a faithful rendering of the power unit of the matching kit.
The SE.5a was a British single-seat fighter biplane of the First World War, one of the most successful aircraft of its time. It was powered by a liquid-cooled Hispano-Suiza V8, or by its license-built variants, of around 200 horsepower, which gave the aircraft a high speed as well as a solid rate of climb.
The photo-etched parts complete and refine the elements of the engine – the valve gear, the fittings, the pipes and other details that injection molded plastic cannot render faithfully. Separate the parts from the fret, bend them over a sharp edge and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the surface before painting and apply a base for metal.
This is an accessory, not a kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
