A masking set for a model of the Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb fighter in 1:32 scale, intended for the kit from Hasegawa.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.Vb was a British single-seat fighter of the Second World War. The Mk.V was among the most numerous versions and fought over the Channel, over Malta and in North Africa. The letter B in the designation refers to the wing type with two 20 mm cannons and four machine guns.
A masking set for the Spitfire Mk.Vb in the large 1:32 scale, intended for the kit from Hasegawa. Which areas the set masks and where the individual parts go is given in the manufacturer's instructions; sort the masks out in advance according to them and leave them on the backing until their turn comes.
The masks go on before spraying, onto a finished, clean and degreased surface with no fingerprints. Press the edges down all the way round so that paint cannot seep underneath. Spray in thin coats and preferably in two passes; a heavy coat tears when the mask is lifted and pulls paint away where it should stay. Remove the mask while the paint is only dry to the touch and pull it back at an angle over itself, not straight upwards. Wipe any adhesive residue off the surface with a soft cloth, not with solvent.
The set suits modelers who want crisp boundaries between color areas without cutting them from masking tape. In 1:32 scale the parts are comfortable to handle and a slip is easy to put right. The kit, paints, glue and thinner are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
