Five small trees 5.08 to 8.89 cm tall in a permanent green. The smallest size of the range under review, suitable for the background of a scene.

The smallest pieces have a job of their own in a scene. They are set at the back, behind the taller trees, and create the impression that the growth carries on farther than the base reaches. Five pieces in one package are usually enough for such a belt, and it is the highest count of trees offered in this size bracket.
The height runs between 5.08 and 8.89 cm. On a layout in the scale of 1:160 a piece like that matches a tree eight to fourteen meters tall, so a full-grown tree, whereas in 1:35 it becomes a bush or a young tree by a wall. It is precisely at the smallest sizes that the scale of the surroundings decides the resulting role more than the size itself.
The trunk is painted and pliable, and the foliage holds in clusters on the branches. The pin at the bottom serves for seating into a drilled hole, and the separable base lets the tree stand even without it. With pieces this small it tends to be simpler to glue them down during the build, because the base is fairly conspicuous against the crown.
The most effective way is to set them in a group with uneven gaps and different orientations, or to hide them partly behind a rise in the terrain. Covering the lower part of the trunks creates the impression of deeper growth without your having to add more trees. The permanent green color suits every season except a winter scene with bare crowns. Anyone building a spring or summer subject can also use them on a more distant slope above the main motif and thereby close off the horizon of the scene.
