1:32 Starshina Natalya Gagarina, the Night Witch: a resin figure of a Soviet female pilot of the Second World War in a flight suit from the manufacturer Aviattic in 1:32 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
This Aviattic figure portrays a Soviet military female pilot of the Second World War in the rank of starshina, dressed in a flight suit with its gear. The resin casting in 1:32 scale is the ideal accessory to Soviet aircraft and to aviation scenes from the Eastern Front: the figure gives a model scale, atmosphere and a story.
Women also served in the Soviet Air Force during the Second World War, as pilots, as navigators and as mechanics. The night bomber regiments in which women airmen flew became known by the nickname the Night Witches. The flight suit, the flying helmet and the gear of the period are a rewarding subject for a modeler, so a figure of a female pilot fits naturally with Soviet machines and into scenes of forward airfields.
Wash the casting clean of mold release residue, clean up the casting blocks and join the separate parts with super glue. After the primer, work with the muted military tones of the cloth and the gear; deepen the folds of the flight suit with a wash or with oil shading and bring the edges out with a dry brush. Layer the skin of the face from the shadows up to the highlights; on a figure in 1:32 scale it pays to work under a magnifier with a thin brush of good quality.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Paints, glue and the aircraft are not included in the package.
