This is neither a vehicle kit nor a gun kit but an accessory photo-etched set. Its content is the sighting device of an anti-aircraft weapon of the 1940M pattern worked into fine metal sheet, which replaces the coarser plastic part from the base kit or adds a detail missing from it. In 1:35 scale such items are clearly visible, because the sight assembly is made up of thin frames, rings and scales that cannot be formed finely enough in plastic.
The optical and mechanical sights of anti-aircraft weapons rested on a complex three-dimensional structure with rings, sighting elements and adjustable arms. It is precisely that structure which photo-etching captures faithfully — the parts have a realistic material thickness and, once assembled, look appropriately delicate. The accessory suits models of anti-aircraft guns and vehicles with anti-aircraft armament in 1:35 scale.
Separate the parts from the fret with a sharp knife on a hard surface; never break them out. Make the folds in a photo-etch bending tool or between two blades, so that the edge is sharp and on the axis of the etched weakening. They are bonded with cyanoacrylate glue applied in a minimal amount, ideally with a pin; cement for plastic does not hold on metal. Degrease the metal before painting and use a thin primer, otherwise the paint will not adhere to the smooth surface. You will bring the sight out with a dark wash in the recesses and a light dry brush on the edges, and with a fine rub of metal on the exposed spots if you like.
