The accessory represents a classic television with a cathode ray tube, that is a set with a deep cabinet and curved glass of the sort that stood in living rooms, offices and duty rooms from the 1970s until flat panels arrived. In 1:35 scale it is a small but instantly readable object that fixes both the period and the setting of a scene. It is not a vehicle model or a vehicle kit, but interior furnishing.
It finds a use in interior vignettes and cutaway buildings, in scenes with figures in civilian clothes, in guardrooms, workshop offices, shops and improvised quarters. A 21-inch diagonal matches an ordinary domestic receiver, so the television looks natural in a living room or a smaller space. It also works well as a compositional anchor: figures turned toward the screen give a scene a storyline without the need to explain anything.
Remove the remains of the sprue gates and check that the cabinet sits flat on the base. Wash resin parts in lukewarm soapy water before painting and glue them with super glue. Paint the cabinet according to the period the scene captures: wood effect, beige or black plastic. The screen matters most. Mix a very dark gray-green shade, cover it with gloss clear coat and add a narrow light highlight in the upper part of the glass; that creates the impression of a set that is switched off. You can imitate a switched-on television with a pale glow and a soft spread of light on the wall around it.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
