Aber — a 75 mm barrel with a muzzle brake for the VK 36.01 in 1:35 scale is a turned metal replacement for the plastic barrel for a model of the German heavy tank prototype.
Responsibility details are not available.
A precisely turned metal gun barrel of 75 mm caliber with a muzzle brake in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber. It is intended as a replacement for the plastic barrel for a model of the German heavy tank prototype VK 36.01, also listed under the designation Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. D/F. It is not a stand-alone model but an upgrade accessory.
The VK 36.01 was a German experimental heavy tank from the beginning of the 1940s, one of the development steps on the way to the later Tiger. Only a few prototype chassis were built, and they served for trials; the project allowed for a powerful weapon of 75 mm caliber. Precisely because of its transitional position between medium and heavy tanks, the VK 36.01 is a rewarding subject for modelers who want something less usual in their collection.
A turned barrel has no parting seams or sink marks that have to be sanded on plastic parts; it is enough to degrease it, fit it and secure it with cyanoacrylate glue. Before painting we recommend giving the metal surface a primer, otherwise the paint adheres badly. The muzzle of the barrel and the area around the muzzle brake can be lightly brought out with a dark wash and traces of burnt metal.
An accessory set; the base tank kit, glue and paints are not included in the package.
