An air conditioning unit from the manufacturer MAiM in 1:35 scale which, according to the manufacturer's name, can be placed on a wall or on a roof. It is a diorama prop, not a kit of a vehicle. While large roof units belong on top of a building, this more versatile rendering livens up facades in particular, because the outdoor units of split air conditioners are an omnipresent detail of urban buildings today.
Hang the unit below the windows of an apartment block, on the wall of a shop or a workshop, or lay it on the flat roof of a smaller building. Several pieces at different heights on a facade create the characteristic visual rhythm of a modern town. It works superbly in subjects from contemporary conflicts and in post-apocalyptic scenes, where a torn-off or rusted unit fills out the atmosphere of decay. It goes together with the roof versions and the big set of the same range.
Clean the casting up and prime it in a light color. The typical look is made up of a dirty white casing with rust streaks below the brackets and dusty louvers; a wash will bring out the gaps in the cover and a dry brush the grille. On a facade, dark streaks running down the wall below the unit also look believable, a simple trick with a big effect.
It is supplied as an unpainted casting to be cleaned up and painted. Paints and glue are not included in the package.
