This is an accessory set of scale ammunition in 1:35 intended for a model of the German heavy tank Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. B, commonly known as the Königstiger. It is neither a model of the tank nor a kit, but accessories for completing one and for use in a scene. The rounds come into their own in an open fighting compartment, in the racks in the turret, in transport crates or lying loose in a diorama scene where ammunition is being loaded into a vehicle. The number of pieces, the material, the execution of the cases and projectiles and any additional elements are stated on the box.
The Pz.Kpfw. VI Ausf. B was a German heavy tank of the closing stage of the Second World War, with heavily sloped frontal armor and an 8.8 cm gun with a long barrel. Because of the size of the rounds the ammunition supply on this vehicle was limited and its stowage made up a substantial part of the internal layout of both hull and turret. Models with an open interior or with the hatches swung back therefore benefit most from added ammunition — without it the inside tends to look empty and visibly unfinished.
Clean and degrease the rounds before gluing and painting; small parts are practical to paint while still on a holder or stuck on a toothpick. In reality a case and a projectile differ in both surface and shade, which is worth bringing out — the metallic sheen of the case against a more matte projectile is convincing. Plan the stowage in the vehicle beforehand according to the interior of the model; add a dust pigment to pieces lying loose in the scene so that they blend into their surroundings. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and a primer is essential on a metal surface.
