Turned barrel for the F-22 divisional gun in 1:35 scale from Aber: a metal replacement for the 76.2 mm barrel. It is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal barrel in 1:35 scale for a model of the Soviet 76.2 mm divisional gun model 1936, known as the F-22. It is not a kit but a replacement for the plastic part. On an artillery subject the barrel stands free and is visible along its whole length, so the slightest bend or mold mark catches the eye. Turned metal is straight and has an open muzzle.
The F-22 gun was created as a general-purpose divisional weapon that was also meant to fire at aircraft. The design proved complicated and was soon replaced in series production by a simpler type. Large numbers were captured by the Germans, who rebuilt them into anti-tank guns and fitted them, among other things, to tank destroyers on captured chassis, so the same weapon appears in both sets of colors and in dioramas.
Cut the plastic barrel off as close to the carriage as possible and drill the seating hole so that the pin of the metal barrel sits firmly. Degrease the metal with alcohol and apply a primer, otherwise the paint will not hold. It is bonded with super glue, that is, cyanoacrylate. On a field gun, check that the barrel points straight when seen from above as well, because the carriage is symmetrical and every deviation shows. Fit the barrel at the end of the build.
The set is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
