Yanmar is a Japanese maker of engines and agricultural machinery. The YT series belongs among the newer compact tractors with a strikingly designed cab and a modern interior. The Delta Crawler designation refers to the triangular rubber tracked running gear that replaces the rear wheels. Tracks spread the weight of the machine over a larger area, which lowers the pressure on the soil and improves grip on soft, wet or sloping ground, where a wheeled tractor would slip.
Work from the running gear up: assemble and paint the track units and their mountings before the bodywork covers them. Build the cab with its glazing on all sides bearing in mind that the interior will be clearly visible from outside, so it pays to paint it carefully and to fit the glazing only at the very end. An agricultural machine will take pronounced weathering: deal with dust and mud using pigments on the tracks and the underside, and a light wash will bring out the cab latches and the grilles. In color terms this is a combination of a saturated base color and black or dark gray parts of the running gear, so it pays to mask and spray section by section.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
