This is a photo-etched metal detail set (vol.2, add-on), not a kit for the whole vehicle. The set replaces the plastic fenders with thin metal parts of true profile and adds their metal fittings and brackets. It follows on from the basic photo-etched set and serves as an add-on for a model of the Marder III M in 1:35 scale.
The Marder III Ausf.M (Sd.Kfz.138) was a German tank destroyer of 1943 and 1944 on the Panzer 38(t) chassis, with an open fighting compartment at the rear and a 75 mm anti-tank gun. Thin metal fenders, which routinely bent and took damage in the field, markedly improve the scale look of the model.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a glass surface and form the bends on a photo-etch bending tool. The fenders can be gently curved and given deformations for a more realistic effect. To bond metal to plastic, use cyanoacrylate or epoxy glue, and apply a metal primer before painting.
This is a detail set, not a vehicle model. The base kit, glue, paints and other parts are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
