A firewood rack in 1:35 scale from MAiM: an unobtrusive prop that gives a rural, military or post-apocalyptic diorama an everyday, inhabited character.
Responsibility details are not available.
A small diorama prop from the manufacturer MAiM, which specializes in accessories for modern, historical and post-apocalyptic scenes. A stock of wood ready for winter is part of the silent equipment of every homestead, and it is exactly such details that turn a base with vehicles and figures into a believable place with a story of its own. The casting is meant to be cleaned up and painted, so the final look is entirely in your hands.
A firewood rack suits a rural cottage, a barn or a field kitchen, and it works just as well in the yard of an urban tenement, by a garage or in a camp of survivors in a post-apocalyptic scene. In 1:35 scale it sits well with the vast majority of military vehicles and figures, so you can use it in subjects from the Second World War as well as in modern conflicts. Place it against the wall of a building or a fence, add an axe, a chopping block or a wheelbarrow, and a micro-scene of its own appears that draws the viewer's attention.
First wash and clean the casting up, then lay on a coat of primer. Paint the wood by layering brown and gray acrylic tones, bring the hollows out with a dark wash and liven the edges up with a dry brush in a light ocher. Conviction comes from a fine pigment in the color of dust and soil at the foot of the rack; in a winter scene a dusting of snow on the top row of logs is enough.
The accessory is supplied as an unpainted casting to be cleaned up and painted. Glue and paints are not included in the package.
