This injection-molded plastic kit in 1:35 scale from Hobby Boss captures the French GCT 155mm AU-F1 tracked self-propelled gun. The box contains photo-etched parts. The model is supplied as a set of parts to be assembled and painted.
The AU-F1 was a French self-propelled howitzer with a 155 mm gun in a fully rotating armored turret with automatic loading, which allowed a high rate of fire. On the roof it carried a 12.7 mm anti-aircraft machine gun. Introduced from the end of the 1970s, the system gave mechanized formations powerful and mobile artillery support with range considerably extended by rocket-assisted projectiles.
Finish the running gear and the lower hull before fitting the turret; balance the turret with its long barrel so that it stands steadily. Glue the plastic with thin modeling cement and the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate. An airbrush and a primer pay off; the modern camouflage scheme is brought to life with a wash into the recesses and fine dust pigments on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
