A turned barrel of the 75 mm Pak 39 gun with a length of 48 calibers in the early version without a muzzle brake for the Hetzer tank destroyer, 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Aber.
Responsibility details are not available.
A turned metal part in 1:35 scale from the Polish manufacturer Aber. It replaces the plastic barrel of the anti-tank gun of 75 mm of the Pak 39 type with a length of 48 calibers, in the early shape without a muzzle brake, as the first light tank destroyers nicknamed the Hetzer carried it. This is a detail accessory, not a kit of a vehicle.
The light tank destroyer known by the nickname Hetzer came about at the end of the Second World War on the modified chassis of a Czechoslovak light tank and was to replace more expensive and more complicated designs. In a sloped armored superstructure it carried a gun of 75 mm with a length of 48 calibers, derived from the barrel armament of medium tanks. Early pieces had a barrel without a muzzle brake, and it is this very detail that tells early production from later vehicles and is a frequent source of mistakes in a build.
Cut off the plastic barrel as close to the mantlet as possible and level the cut, so that the turned part seats squarely. Degrease the metal with alcohol before gluing and roughen it lightly; glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Lay a primer suitable for metals onto the metal, or the paint will hold poorly. The muzzle of the barrel is drilled, so it pays to pick it out only gently with a dark wash after spraying.
This is a detail accessory, not a complete model. Glue, paints and the base kit are not included in the package.
