A photo-etched metal detail set in 1:35 scale from Aber, the basic part of the range for a model of the German tank destroyer Marder III Sd.Kfz.139 with the 7.5 cm Pak 36(r) gun, actually of 7.62 cm caliber, on the Gw.38(t) chassis. The set replaces coarser plastic features with fine photo-etched parts. It is not a vehicle kit but a metal accessory for more experienced modelers.
The Marder III Sd.Kfz.139 was a German improvised tank destroyer from the early part of the Second World War. It came about by mounting a captured Soviet 7.62 cm anti-tank gun on the chassis of the Panzer 38(t) light tank. The open superstructure with its tall silhouette offered respectable firepower at the cost of thin protection for the crew.
Separate the photo-etched parts carefully from the fret with a sharp knife on a glass surface and bend them with a photo-etch bending tool or a metal ruler. Glue with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue) or with glue for photo-etched parts. Degrease the metal parts and apply a metal primer before painting.
This is a photo-etched accessory for a model, not a standalone vehicle kit. The base model, glue and paints are not included in the package.
