1:350 Schleswig-Holstein 1935 - wooden deck, masks and photo-etched parts is a combined accessory for the plastic kit of the battleship. It is not a model but an addition to one. Meant for the Trumpeter 05354 kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A combined package from the maker Artwox Model for the plastic kit of the battleship Schleswig-Holstein in her 1935 version, in 1:350 scale. According to the name it holds a veneer deck with pre-printed plank laying and a self-adhesive backing, masks for painting and photo-etched parts. The kit, glue and paints are not part of it. The set is cut for the Trumpeter 05354 kit, so check the match before buying.
Etched sheet is made from thin brass or nickel and reaches a thickness that injected plastic cannot come near. On a ship model, etching is therefore used where plastic necessarily looks oversized. Combined with a veneer deck it gives a model visually a class above building straight out of the box, but it also means markedly more work.
Work with photo-etch has rules of its own. Cut the parts out with a sharp knife against a hard surface and never tear them off, as a torn part carries away a deformed edge. Make bends over a straight metal edge, not in your fingers. They are glued with a minimum of super glue, or soldered. Trim the veneer with the same knife but a fresh blade: a blade blunted on brass does not cut wood cleanly but pulls fibers out of it. And fit the photo-etched parts only after the deck is glued and any toning is done, or you will keep knocking them off while working on the wood.
This is not a ship kit but an accessory. The model, glue, paints and tools are not included in the package.
