1:35 Wehrmacht jerrycans, Nowack Bautzen, 1939 pattern, closed is a set of ten small accessories for dioramas and for detailing military vehicles. It is not a vehicle kit but a separate fitting.

The set holds ten miniatures of the German standard twenty-liter jerrycan in 1:35 scale, in the variant with the closure shut and with the pressed mark of the Nowack works of Bautzen, in the version after the pattern of 1939. It is not a model of a vehicle and not a kit: it is an accessory with which finished vehicles, trucks, trailers and diorama scenes are fitted out.
The standard can adopted by the German army in the 1930s is among the most widespread transport containers of the Second World War and most armies took its shape over after the war. Characteristic of it are three handles side by side, thanks to which the container is carried by one man or by two and can be passed from hand to hand, the pressed crosses on the sides, which stiffen the shell and leave room for the contents to expand, and the folding lever of the closure, which can be worked without tools. The containers were pressed by several works at once and each marked its products with its own sign; versions are told apart by the mark and the year of the pattern to this day.
Separate the parts carefully from the casting remains with a sharp scalpel or cutting pliers and sand the traces of the cut with fine paper. If they are resin or 3D printed parts, wash them before painting in lukewarm water with dish soap and glue them with super glue; injection-molded plastic takes ordinary thin modeling cement. It proves best to spray the primer, then the color of the vehicle, and finally to bring the relief to life with a dark wash and a dry brush, so that the pressed crosses stand out. The closed variant belongs on holders, fenders, beds and in stacks of load, where the containers merely stand or are lashed down.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and the base model are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
