Antenna bases for German Second World War vehicles, 1:35 scale, are a resin add-on set from AMMO of Mig Jimenez. They replace the simplified plastic antenna feet on the hull of a model; this is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
An add-on set of resin miniatures of the feet in which a radio set's rod antenna was mounted on armored vehicles. In kits the base tends to be molded as a coarse stub in one piece with the hull or as a simple cylinder; a resin replacement allows a more complex shape with an insulator and a sprung mounting. The item is neither a model nor a kit but an accessory for a kit in 1:35 scale you already own. The maker is the Spanish firm AMMO of Mig Jimenez.
The antenna base holds the radio set's rod antenna and at the same time separates it electrically from the body of the vehicle — which is why it contains an insulator. It tends to be built with a sprung joint, so that the antenna folds down on striking an obstacle instead of breaking. On a model it is a small part, but it decides whether the antenna will look natural or like a wire stuck into the hull.
Wash the castings in lukewarm water with dish soap and cut the casting blocks off with a sharp cutter or a fine saw. They are glued with superglue, that is cyanoacrylate; a gel variant gives time to adjust the position. Apply a primer before painting. The antenna itself is best made from stretched brake tubing, thin steel wire or a natural bristle — thicker at the bottom and tapering upward. Paint the base to match the hull, set the insulator apart with a matte black or dark brown shade and add dust at the bottom, so that the part fits into the weathering of the vehicle.
This is an add-on set, not a kit. The base model, the antenna, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
