A photo-etched metal detail set from Aber in 1:35 scale for a model of the American 2.5-ton cargo truck in the open cab version. It adds fine metal parts that give the model a more faithful and richer look.
The American 2.5-ton cargo truck with 6x6 drive was one of the most widespread means of transport in the Allied armies of the Second World War. It took its nickname from its payload and became a symbol of Allied logistics, carrying men, supplies and weapons on every front. The open cab version had a canvas top and a folding windshield, which saved material and production time.
Break the photo-etched parts carefully out of the fret with a sharp blade and dress the edges. Make the bends along the etched score lines using a bending tool or two rules; thicker parts can be briefly annealed to make forming easier. They are glued with cyanoacrylate glue or two-part epoxy. Lay a primer on the metal before painting, or the paint will not hold well.
