1:35 Grant Mk.II is an Eduard photo-etched detail set for a model of the British medium tank in 1:35 scale. It holds metal parts for refining a model; it is not a kit or a masking set.
Responsibility details are not available.
A detail set of thin metal parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard. It serves to improve a plastic model of the Grant tank, not to build one: the base kit is a necessity. The benefit of photo-etched parts lies above all in the thickness of the material. Sheet-metal covers, grab handles, loops and grilles are thin on the real vehicle, and molded plastic can never imitate them well enough to keep them from looking ponderous when viewed from the side.
Grant is the British designation for the American M3 medium tank adapted to British requirements, above all with a different turret. The main gun was mounted in a right-hand sponson mount in the hull, the second weapon in a rotating turret. It was a design intermediate stage between older solutions and the later medium tanks with the main weapon in the turret.
Work on a hard flat surface and separate the parts by cutting, not by twisting. Make the folds in a bending tool or between razor blades, as long straight edges will otherwise never come out right. They are glued with cyanoacrylate applied in the smallest possible amount, so that the excess does not then run into the relief. Always dry-fit a part before fitting it, because photo-etched sheet springs back and is hard to adjust once glued. Treat the degreased metal with a primer, as otherwise the paint will not hold. On a tank it makes sense to fit photo-etched parts before weathering, so that pigments can be applied evenly into the new gaps as well.
The set is an accessory for a kit. The model, glue and paints are not part of the delivery.
