Twelve hinge pieces for a model of the Pz.Kpfw. III tank in the Ausf. J to L versions, 1:35 scale. The name defines them as half hinges and in the larger rendering, by which the set is distinguished from the smaller variant in the same range. The cut is based on kits by the brand Dragon.
On the real vehicle the hinges hold the hatches and doors: above the crew, on the sides of the turret and at the rear of the hull. In an injected kit these small items are necessarily thicker and blunter than they were on the subject, because the mold limits them. The replacement parts therefore change the look of exactly the places the eye goes to first when looking at a finished model. Check where each piece belongs and in what position in the manufacturer's instructions and in documentation for the particular machine, because the rendering differed between the J and L versions and between production batches.
Cut the excess material off with a sharp blade a little away from the part and carefully sand the remainder back, so as not to cut into the shape. Check whether cement for plastic models takes on the material; if not, use cyanoacrylate glue and roughen the glued surface lightly beforehand. The parts are small, so lay them out on a light surface before gluing and pick them up with tweezers. Before painting, wash and degrease them and apply a thin coat of base color.
