Six laser-guided GBU-12 bombs built on the French CBEMS body, with two pylons and two triple racks, 1:48 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The difference between this set and its American counterpart lies in what is under the guidance head. The French Air Force uses a series of bomb bodies of its own, and the guidance kit is mounted on them just as on a body of overseas production. The resulting weapon therefore fills the same role, only it has a slightly different outline and a different distribution of lettering.
Into the package belong six finished bombs in 1:48 scale, a pair of underwing pylons, a pair of triple racks and a sheet of decals. The lettering carries batch numbers and colored rings, which on real munitions tell what is inside. On a model their main task is a different one: to break up a uniform gray area and to give the weapon scale.
It pays to look up a photograph of a particular aircraft, because the two types of bodies were mixed within units according to availability. The set is assembled from the bottom up, that is pylon, rack, bombs.
The castings will not take coarse sanding, because the edges of the guidance surfaces are thin. A fine-toothed file and several light strokes are better than one strong one. After degreasing and spraying a base, the paint holds without peeling.
Anyone who wants to emphasize the thin guidance surfaces can bring out their edges with a darker shade after spraying. A small contrast on a model betrays that a surface is movable.
