This is a detail photo-etched set from the Polish manufacturer Aber for models of the German heavy armored car Sd.Kfz. 234/1 with 2 cm armament, in 1:35 scale. The package contains fine parts of etched brass sheet, which replace the coarser plastic elements, among them the fenders, the grilles, the clamps and the fittings of the superstructure. Note: it is not a model of the vehicle but a metal accessory for a plastic kit you have already bought.
The Sd.Kfz. 234/1 was an eight-wheeled heavy armored reconnaissance car of the German army from the end of the Second World War. The /1 version carried a 2 cm automatic cannon in a multi-sided open turret. The vehicle was marked out by good mobility and range, which made it suitable for long-range reconnaissance.
The photo-etched parts are cut off with a sharp knife or with special scissors, bent over a photo-etch bending tool and glued with super glue (cyanoacrylate) or with epoxy. Thin metal fenders allow a more faithful shape than thicker plastic. Degrease the metal and prime it before painting.
