Responsibility details are not available.
A model of the Hitachi ZC50C-5 road roller in 1:35 scale. Construction machinery turns up on modeling benches rarely, and that is exactly why it fits everywhere a scene is meant to look plain and everyday: on a road under construction, at the repair of a yard or on a surface that is being graded.
A combined roller brings together two different working elements. At the front it has a smooth steel drum with a vibrating mechanism that drives rapid impacts into the base and compacts it in depth. At the rear it runs on tires, which work more on the surface and close and smooth the asphalt mat. That is where the name combined comes from. In 1:35 scale a machine like this comes out about the size of an ordinary off-road vehicle, so it sits well alongside figures and other hardware in the same scale.
A roller lives and dies by the surface of its drum. The steel shell polishes itself almost to a mirror in use, while the frame and the sides stay dusty and caked with soil. A proven approach is to paint and weather the whole machine uniformly and to bring the shine back only at the end, with a fine rub of graphite or metallic pigment over the area that touches the ground. Road dust sits low, on the chassis and the fenders, not on the upper surfaces of the machine.
Paints, glue, pigments and a base are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
