A resin figure in 1:35 scale from the Polish maker Toro Model. It is a stand-alone historical figure for a diorama or a display base, not a kit of a piece of equipment. The casting is supplied unassembled and unpainted; paints, glue and a base are not included in the box.
The subject is a Polish cavalry officer of the interwar period. For the modeler, what is interesting about this figure is the formal uniform of the day: a tunic with collar tabs, riding breeches and high boots, a belt with a strap over the shoulder and the characteristic square-topped cap. The figure suits quiet, non-combat scenes, in front of a building, beside a horse or next to a period car, where the quality of the uniform painting shows.
Wash the casting in lukewarm soapy water so that the traces of mold release agent disappear. Cut the casting blocks off with a fine saw, sand the surfaces and protect your airways when sanding resin. It is glued with cyanoacrylate glue, and the gaps can be filled with modeling filler. After the primer, paint the uniform with acrylics and bring out the difference between the tunic and the riding breeches with subtly different shades. Finish the collar tabs, buttons and straps with a fine brush, and the metal parts with a light dry brush. The high boots look best if you leave a dark base and only hint at the sheen.
The figure is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
