This injection-molded plastic kit from the Japanese manufacturer FineMolds represents the tracked Type 60 armored personnel carrier in the version with Type 64 MAT anti-tank guided missiles in 1:35 scale. The model offers a broken-down hull, the running gear and the missile launcher, and it is meant to be assembled and painted by the builder.
The Type 60 was the first postwar armored personnel carrier of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF). In this form it carries Type 64 MAT wire-guided anti-tank missiles, which entered the inventory in the mid-1960s. The vehicle thus filled the role of a mobile carrier of anti-tank defense.
Assemble the running gear and the tracks first, then close up the hull and finish off the missile launcher. A uniform olive or a multi-color finish is typical and it comes into its own with an airbrush. The weathering and dust are built up with washes and pigments.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
