Photo-etched parts for a model of the German Leopard 1A5 main battle tank in 1:35 scale.
Responsibility details are not available.
The Leopard 1A5 is the late modernization of the German Leopard 1 tank from the 1980s. The vehicle received a new fire control system and instruments for night and degraded vision, thanks to which the original design kept its combat value long after it came about. From the outside the Leopard 1A5 is recognized by the angular welded turret with a prominent box at the rear. It is precisely the turret, the stowage baskets and the fenders that are the places where a model gains most in fidelity.
These are photo-etched parts in 1:35 scale for a Leopard 1A5 model. Photo-etch makes it possible to produce thin elements that cannot be made in injection-molded plastic: grilles, eyes, brackets, sheet covers and similar components then read at the right thickness on a model. The kit the set is built for and the exact contents of the fret are given in the manufacturer's instructions.
The parts are held to the fret by thin tabs; cut them with a sharp blade on a hard surface and never tear them off. Make the fold along the etched groove, ideally in a bending tool or between the jaws of flat pliers. They are attached with super glue applied in a small amount, best from a wire. Before painting, degrease the parts and apply a base coat, or the paint will not hold on the smooth surface and will rub off during handling.
The set is for modelers who build postwar hardware in 1:35 scale and want to take a model beyond the level of a box build. The tank model, paints and glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
