This pre-painted photo-etched set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:35 scale adds a set of boxes for 7.62 mm machine gun ammunition to a model of the LVT-4 amphibious carrier. The color-printed parts make it possible to assemble realistic boxes complete with lettering without lengthy painting. It is not a standalone model but an upgrade accessory meant to complete a plastic kit.
The LVT-4 Water Buffalo was an American amphibious tracked carrier of the Second World War period. It served in landing operations and carried infantry and cargo from ships to the shore, above all in the Pacific. Ammunition boxes were a common part of the vehicle's fit and of its machine gun armament.
Separate the photo-etched parts with a sharp knife on a cutting surface and make the bends along the etched grooves with a bending tool or two razor blades. Use cyanoacrylate glue. Protect the color-printed surfaces from being sanded through; deal with any touch-ups with a brush. At the end we recommend a matte or clear coat to even out the surface.
The set is an accessory for a plastic kit. The base model, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
