A set of photo-etched panels in 1:35 scale for the M1134 ATGM anti-tank vehicle of the Stryker family. The metal parts replace the thicker plastic shapes.
Responsibility details are not available.
The M1134 ATGM is the anti-tank version of the eight-wheeled Stryker armored vehicle used by the US Army. It carries the launcher for TOW anti-tank guided missiles, which is raised above the hull to fire and folded down for travel. The wheeled chassis and the large flat sheet surfaces of the hull give the vehicle a character in which every reinforced or, conversely, overly thick part is easy to spot on a model.
The set contains photo-etched metal panels in 1:35 scale for that vehicle. Which particular areas of the vehicle they cover and how they are placed on the model is described in the manufacturer's instructions that come with the set. The advantage of photo-etch here is the thickness of the material: once replaced, a flat part looks far closer to the real thing than the corresponding plastic shape. On the large flat surfaces of the hull that difference shows even from a distance, not only up close.
Separate the panels with a sharp blade on a hard surface and then level the remaining tabs with a fine file. Try each part dry in place before gluing, and make any bend over the edge of a ruler or in a bender. Go easy on the glue; a tiny drop of cyanoacrylate is enough. Wash, degrease and prime the surfaces before painting so that the paint holds on the smooth metal.
The set will please modelers who want the flat parts on a wheeled armored vehicle to be the right thickness. The kit, the paints and the glue are not part of the delivery, unless stated otherwise.
