Eduard 1:35 M551 Sheridan is a photo-etched set for the model of the M551 Sheridan light tank. It replaces the coarser plastic parts with thin metal ones; it is not a kit.
Responsibility details are not available.
A set of photo-etched parts from the Czech manufacturer Eduard intended for detailing the model of the American M551 Sheridan light tank in 1:35 scale. Thin metal sheet makes it possible to replace the plastic parts that are too thick for technical reasons, so the grilles, lifting eyes, brackets and similar small items get the right thickness. The package holds photo-etched parts only, and the tank model itself is bought separately.
The M551 Sheridan was an American light amphibious tank designed as an air-transportable reconnaissance and assault vehicle. Its hallmarks are the low welded hull of aluminum alloy, the prominent rotating turret and a short large-caliber gun that also served as a launcher for guided missiles. The vehicle was deployed in Southeast Asia and later in airborne operations.
Cut the photo-etched parts on a hard surface with photo-etch scissors or a scalpel, and never tear them out. Make the folds in a bending tool or over a sharp edge. They are glued with a small amount of cyanoacrylate glue. Degrease the metal and apply a primer before painting, otherwise paint will not hold on the smooth sheet. Finish the inside of the hull and the running gear before you close the vehicle up. For weathering this type suits dust and mud effects: thin washes into the detail and pigments on the running gear and the lower areas.
The set is an accessory for a plastic model, not a kit in its own right. The model, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
