An injection-molded plastic kit of the American M5A1 Stuart light tank in 1:35 scale from the Taiwanese maker AFV Club. The kit is known for the fine detail of its molding, holds photo-etched parts and individual track links for a faithful rendering of the running gear. The model is meant to be glued and painted.
The M5A1 was a development version of the American Stuart series of light tanks. Unlike the earlier M3, the M5 was powered by a pair of Cadillac gasoline engines coupled to a Hydra-Matic automatic transmission, which made it easier to operate and raised its reliability. The vehicle carried a 37 mm gun and was committed by the US Army and by the Allies on most of the battlefields of the Second World War, where it proved itself in reconnaissance and in support of infantry.
With armored equipment, assemble and fine-tune the running gear and the interior first, and only then close the hull. Glue the photo-etched parts with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). We recommend a base of primer, an airbrush for the base camouflage and subsequent emphasis on the detail with washes and pigments for mud and dust effects on the running gear.
The model is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints and accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
