The accessory suits an armory, the bed of a vehicle, an issue table or the ground beside figures, where such cases usually stand stacked up.
Pelican transport cases are shell-type boxes of tough plastic with a perimeter seal, folding latches and handles. The weapon versions have a shaped inner insert, so that the weapon does not move in the case and is not damaged in transit. The M60 is an American 7.62 mm general-purpose machine gun introduced in the 1950s, which served as infantry support as well as armament for vehicles and helicopters and stayed in service for a very long time in a number of countries. In a modeling scene it can therefore be used with Cold War vehicles as well as with more recent subjects.
Separate the parts carefully, clean up the mating faces and wash and degrease them before painting. A thin primer, the base shade from an airbrush and the details finished with a brush prove their worth. Bring the latches, hinges and handles out with gentle dry-brushing and suggest the label on the lid with a decal or a fine brush. Knock the surface back with a flat varnish. Seat the case in the scene so that it sits flat across its whole face, or turn it slightly and add other equipment beside it, so that a natural still life comes about.
