The Voyager Model 1:35 photo-etched detail set for the modern American Husky Mk.III (VMMD) mine detection vehicle is neither a model nor a kit but a set of brass photo-etched parts you buy to go with the Panda PH35015 plastic kit you already own. It replaces thick plastic components with thin metal and raises the detail of the finished vehicle a class higher.

Voyager Model is a Chinese manufacturer of aftermarket photo-etched sets for military subjects, long prized by collectors for the fineness of its photo-etched parts and for accurate fit. This set is meant for the plastic kit of the Husky Mk.III mine detection vehicle from Panda (PH35015) and is cut directly to its shapes. On its own it is not a model: what you get is frets of photo-etched brass, which replace selected plastic parts in the course of the build.
The Husky is a single-purpose wheeled vehicle for detecting mines and booby-trap systems on roads. It has a hull with a shaped floor that resists a blast wave, a crew placed high above the chassis and a modular construction that allows the vehicle to be put back together from spare sections after a hit. The version with ground-penetrating radar carries sensor panels in front of the vehicle and along its sides, with which the surface and the shallow depth of the road are searched. In the equipment of engineer units it serves to open routes for columns and typically works in pairs with other vehicles of the column clearing obstacles.
Photo-etched parts are made from brass sheet a few tenths of a millimeter thick, that is in 1:35 scale exactly where an injection mold cannot draw a part thin enough. It shows most on the sensor frames, the gratings, the brackets and the sheet-metal covers, which in reality are a few millimeters thick. Nip the parts out of the fret with a sharp scalpel on a hard surface, level the remains of the tab with a fine file and make the bends in a bending tool or between two razor blades, so that the edge is straight along its whole length. Glue with cyanoacrylate in a small drop applied with a pin; on larger surfaces a thicker gel version helps, as it gives time to straighten a part.
This is an add-on set, not a model. The basic plastic kit, the glue and the paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
