A sheet of printed movie posters from Matho Models with artwork in the style of the 1950s and 1960s. The era of the great cinemas and colorful poster art offers rewarding motifs for postwar and retro dioramas - a poster pasted on a wall immediately gives away the period in which the scene takes place. The miniature posters only need to be cut out and pasted into a scene in 1:35 scale.

Use in a diorama

The posters belong on facades, boundary walls, fences, posts and notice boards, and of course on the front of a cinema with its billboards. They go superbly with scenes featuring civilian vehicles of the 1950s and 1960s, with Cold War subjects and with nostalgic town vignettes. Apply a thin layer of thinned PVA glue to the back and press the poster down with a soft cloth so that it follows the texture of the surface. Layering older and newer posters over one another, torn corners and gentle fading with a dry brush will give a wall its history. Finally unify the surface with matte varnish so that the paper blends with the patina around it. The small splash of color from the posters can pleasantly break up the monotony of large facade surfaces.
