This is a photo-etched detail set from the Czech maker Eduard in 1:35 scale. It contains parts for refining the exterior of the German Panzer IV medium tank in the Ausf. H version, that is, fine elements of the hull, the turret, the fenders and the superstructure. It is not a model of the tank but an accessory that replaces simplified plastic sections with more faithful photo-etch.
The Panzerkampfwagen IV was the most widely used German medium tank of the Second World War and formed the backbone of the armored units. The Ausf. H version was among the most numerous and carried added side skirts and other changes drawn from combat experience. The abundance of external detail makes it a rewarding subject for a photo-etched set.
The photo-etched parts are separated from the fret, shaped with tweezers and glued with cyanoacrylate glue. The fine elements are installed step by step during the building of the hull and the turret. For a three-dimensional look, careful painting and weathering with dust and mud effects are recommended.
