This set is a resin cockpit accessory for a plastic kit of the two-seat F-4C Phantom II fighter in 1:48 scale. It is not an airplane model but a detail set that replaces the original cockpit of a kit with a more faithful casting with fine relief of the instrument panels, side consoles, the tubs of the pilot and the weapons systems operator and other interior details.
The McDonnell Douglas F-4C Phantom II was an American two-seat twin-engine supersonic fighter and multirole aircraft. The F-4C version was one of the first production forms of the Phantom with the US Air Force and was widely flown in the 1960s. The roomy cockpit with two seats one behind the other is characteristic of the Phantom, and a detailed rendering of it markedly lifts the finished model.
First wash the mold release residue off the parts, separate the casting blocks carefully and bond with super glue (cyanoacrylate). Check the fit with the kit parts before gluing it into the fuselage, and rework it slightly if necessary. Sand resin with respiratory protection. The interior comes into its own once the base surfaces are painted and the instruments are picked out with a gentle wash and a dry brush.
