It is a diorama accessory for 1:35. Check the number of parts, the material, the height of the finished pole and the way the insulators and crossarms are handled against the illustration on the packaging and the contents of the package.
Dioramas with equipment or figures suffer from being flat: everything happens just above the base. A power line pole is one of the few accessories that stretch a scene upward without stealing attention from the main model. At the same time it states the setting unambiguously — the edge of a village, a field track, the approach to a factory, a crossroads on the outskirts. It comes into its own in civilian and military scenes alike and equally well in a postapocalyptic setting, where it is enough to tilt the pole and tear the line.
Set the pole up vertically and watch that it is at right angles to the base; even the slightest lean is visible in a finished scene. Try fitting the parts dry first; according to the material in the package, choose the glue — super glue on resin, ordinary modeling cement on injection-molded plastic. A wooden pole is painted from a darker base, and once it is dry it is drawn out with a dry brush along the edges of the grain; the lower part at ground level should be darkened and dusted with pigment, because impregnation and damp change the wood there markedly. The conductors are added with thin copper wire or a hair, which is strung right at the end, after painting. The insulators get a gloss varnish, so that they set the glass apart from the wood and the metal.
The accessory is supplied unassembled and unpainted. Glue, paints, wire for the conductors and other accessories are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
