A photo-etched metal set of PSP panels, pierced steel planks, in 1:35 scale from the manufacturer Aber. It faithfully reproduces the characteristic perforated planks with their interlocking catches, from which temporary roadways, hardstandings and landing strips were laid. This is a diorama accessory, not a model.
Pierced steel planks (PSP) were widely used during the Second World War and afterwards to firm up ground and to build field roads and temporary airfield surfaces. Their perforated pattern is easy to recognize.
Nip the parts out of the photo-etched fret and clean them up, make the bends on a bending tool or along the scored lines, and glue them with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). Degrease the metal before painting and go over it with a coat of primer for adhesion. The planks can be laid onto the base of a diorama and weathered with rust and mud for the true look of field use.
An accessory for a plastic kit. The model itself, glue and paints are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
