1:35 Pz.Kpfw. V Panther is a Quickwheel masking set for the road wheels, cut for the Academy kit. It deals with the rubber tire bands of an interleaved running gear.

A sheet of masks for painting the road wheels, not a kit and not replacement parts. The masks cover the rim and expose the rubber tire band, so the edge between the shades is made not by your hand but by the cut. The set is prepared for the wheels from the Academy kit, which with this range is the decisive detail: the same type of vehicle tends to have wheels of a different size and different detail from different manufacturers.
The Panther has an interleaved, so-called staggered running gear. Eight large rubber-tired wheels sit on each side in two overlapping rows on double torsion bars, the drive sprocket is at the front, the idler wheel at the rear and there are no return rollers. For the modeler that means two things. First, there are many wheels and they have to look the same, or everyone will notice the odd one in the row. Second, the inner row can hardly be reached once assembled, so it has to be painted and unmasked before the outer row is fitted. The order of work matters more here than the technique itself. The outer wheels then cover most of the inner ones, but a strip of tire band stays visible through the gaps and sloppiness is spotted on it at once.
An interleaved running gear is famous for how dirt collects in it, and for a modeler that is an advantage. Once the mask is off, let a dark wash run around the tire bands to pick out the edges of the discs. Then comes pigment dust on the underside of the hull and on the fenders, and mud into the gaps between the rows of wheels, where in reality it caked most, rather than evenly across the whole running gear. It is precisely the contrast between the clogged space between the rows and the cleaner outer surface that makes the scene legible. The running surface of the tire bands wears off to gray, so a hint of dry-brushing around the outer circumference is enough.
Paints, glue and the kit itself are not included in the package. Check before ordering that your kit matches the one the set is cut for.
