About product

Razor wire 1:35 (a photo-etched accessory, Add on parts)

This accessory from the brand Add on parts is not a model but a photo-etched metal sheet in 1:35 scale from which you will create razor (coiled) wire resembling modern barriers. The finely etched barbs look realistic, and once rolled up they create the typical concertina coil.

What it is for

Razor wire bounds checkpoints, the perimeters of bases, barriers and fortified positions. Although the motif matches modern wire, once toned down it holds up in more general scenes as barbed-wire barriers too.

Building and painting tips

Cut the strip out carefully and wind it onto a rod or a brush handle, which gives you a regular coil. Glue and anchor it with cyanoacrylate glue (super glue). You will bring out the metallic look with a dark base coat and a gentle dry brush, and add rust with pigments and a wash.

Who the accessory is for

  • builders of dioramas and vignettes in 1:35 scale
  • those interested in fortified and guarded scenes
  • modelers who work with photo-etched metal
  • creators of modern as well as more general wartime scenes

This is a photo-etched accessory, not a model. Paints and glue are not included in the package, unless stated otherwise.
